Earlier this month, contributors to the Oxford Road element of the Revealing Reading’s Hidden Histories project gathered to share the fruits of their local research at the annual Oxford Road Fun Day. Braving scorching heat, members of the Oxford Road steering committee handing out pamphlets detailing neglected facts about the West Reading street. As part of the community engagement initiative, museum representatives encouraged children to colour in sketches of the street by local artist, Kate Lockhart. A photograph from the Oxford Road Fun Day as well as further details on the Happy Museum-funded project can be found in this recent article from the Reading Chronicle.
